Our History

Sleek & Slender was founded 27 years ago from a deep need for radical change. The founder, Mrs. Jane Baine, was 33 years old at the time and had gained an excess of 20kilos from child bearing and being a stay at home mom. These excess kilos not only changed her physical appearance, but it affected her overall health. At just 33, her knees could no longer carry her weight, her back was in excess pain, she had no energy to accomplish even simple tasks and her self-esteem had plummeted.
The turning point came when she looked herself in the mirror and agreed with the person looking back that she was not going to live the rest of her life looking and feeling as she was.
So, she set out to look for a solution. She tried the gyms but gave up after a few days of the tough exercises, she tried swimming but it affected her skin and her hair. During her travels one day, she bumped into these magical machines known as Toning Tables. And thus, Sleek and Slender was founded. A wellness center that has continuously evolved into a holistic wellness center that focuses on preventive medicine through focusing on lifestyle as medicine i.e. Nutrition, Exercise, Stress Management & Attitude Adjustment. Sleek and Slender focuses on the holistic frame of mankind for optimal well-being.

The core purpose of the brand is to equip people with the practical tools and knowledge to live a quality life by focusing on their holistic well-being. We basically teach people to take care of their health before they fall sick (Before people eat, they plan what to cook in advance and the same applies to our health, before we fall sick, we must plan to be well).
Vision
To grow the need for preventive healthcare in order to equip both young and old on the importance of healthy lifestyles for a quality, long life. In partnership with different policies within government and the private sector, preventive healthcare must be the focus of each household to help lessen the disease burden in Africa and beyond by 2030 (WHO projected Non-Communicable Diseases to account for 46% of all deaths in Sub-Saharan Africa, and in Uganda it is currently ay 33%).
